Almost a Decade: Jill & Kevin Get Married

Monday, October 1st, 2012

Jill Arnold and Kevin Martin
Married in Clearwater Beach, Florida on July 15, 2011

“If you talk to Kevin,” says Jill Arnold, “he will say I rejected him in high school. But the real story is we were both very shy teenagers that never followed through after the first phone call.” A year behind her at Zanesville High School in Ohio, Kevin Martin got Jill’s number from a mutual friend. They talked, even had a class in common two years later, but nothing more came of it at the time.

While they were in college they instant messaged every now and then, and even swapped numbers again texting a few times, but it wasn’t until April of 2007, almost a decade later, when a taken Kevin told Jill that he was coming to town for the weekend that things just seemed to click. Not long after the visit he and his girlfriend parted ways. “I finally built up the courage to approach the woman I have always wanted to be with,” shares Kevin. Unable to deny the attraction, “We quickly became serious,” remembers Jill, “and before I knew it, I was taking red eyes back and forth to Sacramento so we could spend the weekend together and I could make it back in time for work on Monday.”

The following June, Jill moved to Sacramento to be with Kevin where she “fell even more in love than I ever thought possible.”

A little over four years after they started dating, Jill and Kevin exchanged vows on the Gulf Lawn at Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach, Florida. Cocktail hour consisted of a bounty of food including sushi, passed hors d’oeuevres and different stations, as well as signature cocktails like the Martin-tini. Afterwards, the reception was in the Hunter Ballroom with breathtaking views of the ocean below.

Memorable moments include the couples grand entrance where they came in to the song “Bottoms Up” by Nicki Minaj each holding a bottle of their favorite champagne: Veuve Clicquot. Another highlight, was the oreo bar station, which also served as favors for the guests featuring the couple’s favorite cookie alongside milk shooters.

An Instant Connection: Jennifer & Kevin Get Married

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011

A few months ago I shared the video for this wedding, and suffice it to say, time flew by, and I am just getting around to sharing some pics with you.

I love the Boca Grande area of Florida. I think it offers a picturesque backdrop for oceanside nuptials and a lot of nautical charm without being too kitchy. Some moments that I love about Jennifer and Kevin’s wedding are the little girl at the altar and Jennifer tossing her bouquet off of the top of The Gasparilla Inn and Club. Other things I love are the cake with its matching starfish topper and of course, their four-legged friend in tow. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did and don’t forget to check out their video by the amazing associates at Voila Cinematic.

Jennifer Ramil and Kevin Patrick McCoy
Married in Boca Grande, Florida on May 15, 2010

Kevin was working at a Tampa law firm with a friend of Jennifer’s parents, who thought they would make a great couple and arranged for an introduction on August 30, 2007 in a suite at a Tampa Bay Bucs game. Hitting it off instantaneously, Kevin called Jennifer the following day to make dinner plans and the match was made. Just shy of two years together, Kevin proposed on the beach in Boca Grande, which made the Gasparilla Inn the perfect place to celebrate their marriage. Visiting the island brings back wonderful memories of their wedding weekend and will always hold a special place in their hearts, continuing to be the perfect backdrop for celebrating their lives together.

A Match Was Made: Jennifer & Kevin Get Married

Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Like they say in real estate: location, location, location. And for those of you that haven’t figured it out, I happen to be slightly enamored by waterside reception sites. This wedding in Boca Grande, Florida is no different and I love how Botanica International Design Studio and planner, Brenda Barton, paid homage to the setting with subtle nautical nuances like the starfish on the wedding arbor and the nautilus on the backs of the chairs. The hydrangea throughout the entire decor was a really nice touch too and probably one of my favorite flowers behind orchids.

I think this couple is absolutely adorable and the way that the amazing Alex and Jocelyn of Voila Cinematic edited their wedding video built up a lot of anticipation coming full circle with the door closing at the end and then the fade out.

Things I love: Jennifer’s shoes and hair accessory, and thanks to Yanni (@yanniwedstyle), I have grown a fondness for bow ties like Kevin’s.
