Chiyo Lombard and Joseph Husslein

When Fisheye Studio was approached almost a year prior to Chiyo and Joseph’s January nuptials, the idea was to highlight their lives in a way that reflected all that they valued. Since both already had children it meant that they were going to unite into one family and also that their lives would be joined together forever by the vows they were taking.
For this reason, the team at Fisheye Studio decided to make the entire film black and white. It was their first-ever venture into the simple medium. Possessing a beautiful family, home and adventurous and colorful lives, they chose to juxtapose the simplicity of Chiyo and Joseph’s love for one another against the simplistic style of the film.
The ceremony was an expression of that, stripping away all of the vibrancy that surrounds it and making it clear what the day was ultimately about: a simple choice, a simple love.
A huge mahalo to Andrew and his pilot Kyle from Higher Definition Media for providing the aerial footage throughout the film, which really enhanced it.
