Angie Kalayjian and Isabel Mardirossian acquired an established LA bridal company, “Jobyna’s Bridal Salon”, in 1998. From the beginning, Angie and Isabel set about upgrading and expanding their bridal collection. With an eye for choosing stunning wedding gowns, they were inspired by sophisticated couture styles from leading European and North American designers.

The Verdugo store offers a fabulous range of modern chic designer wedding gowns 2009 saw the opening of an additional store location in one of Los Angeles’ prestigious and luxury shopping resort, The Americana, in Glendale. This new boutique features wedding gowns by leading designer, Ines Di Santo, and exclusively showcasing her feminine, sexy, romantic gowns and accessories. GO: Do you offer alterations?
LB: We pride ourselves on our highly skilled Lovella Bridal couture seamstresses that have the ability to make a brides vision a reality. Best of all we are a full service salon and everything is done on premise. Your gown does not leave our salon until you are ready to pick it up.

GO: Do you sell accessories/veils/shoes? If so, what designers?
LB: Lovella Bridal offers extensive selection of accessories imaginable. Many of our veils/belts are from our gown designers such as Ines Di Santo, Edgardo Bonilla, Kenneth Pool, Lazaro, Pronovias, Ysa Makino and much more!

We also carry veils/accessories from Maria Elena Accessories & Headpieces, Erica Koesler, Malis Henderson and much more. Shoes: Martinez Valero and Aruna Seth.

LM: Since 1993

GO: What designers do you carry?
LM: We carry the couture designer names of Reem Acra, Jenny Packham, Rivini, Eugenia, Liancarlo, Lee Ann Belter, Nicole Miller and many more in our Shawnee, KS salon.

GO: Do you offer alterations?
LM: Yes, all of our alterations are done on site, and your gown does not leave the salon until you are ready to pick it up.

GO: Do you sell accessories/veils/shoes? If so, what designers?
LM: Laura’s Couture Collection offers a variety of shoe styles by Grazia. Tony Fredrici, Paris and Erin Cole veils and accessories are also available.

GO: Do you have options for mothers/bridesmaids?
LM: The bridesmaid’s dresses that we carry at Laura’s include Siri, Jenny Yoo and Monique Lhuillier. While for mother’s we have Siri, Liancarlo and Monique Lhuillier.

GO: Do you have a trunk show schedule?
LM: Reem Acra will be featuring a trunk show in our salon the first full weekend in October. The dresses will be at Laura’s starting Thursday, October 6th and staying until Saturday, October 8th. For more shows visit our website.

GO: What unique services do you offer brides? What makes your salon stand apart from others?
LM: The motto of our salon is “Experience the Elegance.” Based upon that motto, we strive to create the most enjoyable and elegant experience for each one of our brides. By scheduling our appointments we give brides complete one-on-one time to find and style their special wedding dress. We want you to remember every aspect of your dress; from shopping in our salon, to your fittings and final pick up, to the actual ceremony, for it to be the happiest and most fun it can possibly be!

GO: In your own words, describe the “bridal salon experience” that brides will receive when visiting your salon.
LM: I found my own wedding gown shopping experience to be more ordinary than I had hoped it to be. After all, this was the dress I was going to wear on the happiest day of my life, and I wanted to have an extraordinary experience shopping for it. From my own experience, I decided to provide brides with the attention and one-on-one styling that they deserve when searching for the perfect dress. The experience at Laura’s Couture Collection is one of happiness and fun, never a stuffy or boring atmosphere.

Spotlight on Le Salon Bridal Boutique

Le Salon located in Royal Oak, Michigan and at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago, IL offers the most unique experiences for brides and their couture gowns. After chatting with the staff at Le Salon I was so thrilled to hear about their phenomenal services that they offer each bride. The best way to demonstrate one of their services, “I Before the We” is to show it on video.

“The Couture Shoot” is a day filled of fashion and pampering. First, your day begins with a soothing massage and facial followed by a wine tasting at a local winery. Then after your relaxation sets in, it’s off to hair and make up where you will be prepped for a fashion shoot in your gown at a professional photo studio. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for the bride to play with a different look before the wedding day and document her couture experience. After the shoot, the bride joins her friends and family back at Le Salon to preview her pictures and enjoy the wine she selected earlier that day. It’s what they call the “I Before the We” experience where a bride can take an entire day to relax and enjoy modeling in her gown and have the entire experience immortalized in her “Couture Book.” Like her own wedding album, the “Couture Book” tells the journey before her wedding, which she can later share with her husband. LS: Couture Fit – The Couture Fit is exclusively offered at both Le Salon Royal Oak & Chicago at the Four Seasons. 11-20 measurements are taken depending on the style of the dress to ensure that the gown comes in with the proper proportions. Finishing touches are covered complimentary up to a 1-inch variance. With Couture Fit, many of our brides don’t require any additional alterations for fit.

Love at First Sight – If a bride finds “The One” during their initial consultation, they can take advantage of Love at First Sight discount on Couture Fit. Love at First Sight is not designed to make any bride feel pressured or rushed. If this is the case, love may be found on the second or third date *wink*

GO: In your own words, describe the “bridal salon experience” that brides will receive when visiting your salon.
LS: The luxury bridal experience for Le Salon Chicago is one of a kind. Before setting up an appointment, brides go through a complimentary pre-consultation with one of our stylists through Skype to get to know each other and discuss the collection. If it’s a perfect fit, then the bride is booked for an initial consultation. If not, the stylist will recommend other bridal salons that the bride should visit to continue her search.

Consultations are private and are 1-on-1 with the couture consultant handpicking pieces for the appointment that match the client’s style. It is hosted with a skyrise view overlooking the city and Lake Michigan complete with a champagne toast for her and up to 5 guests.

Initial Consultations are $250.00 each. The fees are non-refundable, however, the first appointment’s fee does go towards the purchase of any wedding gown at Le Salon. Pickup and fitting appointments are of course complimentary. Because of our unique process, most Le Salon brides do fall in love the same day of their first appointment.

It is highly recommended and appointments can be denied if a bride has not already tried on bridal gowns. It is important that the bride has narrowed in on her vision, knowing what she likes and doesn’t like, so the couture consultant can give a full consultation.

GO: Anything special you want our readers to know?
LS: The artistic director of Le Salon designed the ultimate couture experience in 2009 when she acquired the Carrie Dress by Vivienne Westwood from Sex in the City. She was selected as one of the three boutiques to have this limited edition gown in the United States. The Couture Shoot is a blend of Ms Williamson’s career as an international wedding photographer and second-generation bridal storeowner. She feels that every bride should have the ultimate couture experience.

CK: Yes, we do offer alterations. However, we do not require that our brides do their alterations with us since some brides live out of the area or may have their own seamstress in their family.

CK: We do have many accessories in the store such as: veils, jewelry, hair combs, belts and sashes, which are available by custom order. We carry designers such as Tia Mazza, Homa, Cheryl King, Siman Tu, Paris, and Peter Langner. Accessories are one of the easiest and most fun ways to make a bridal look your own!

CK: Carine’s Bridal Atelier carries the bridesmaids line by Monique Lhuillier and we are very excited to introduce eveningwear to the boutique! We recently started carrying the ML Evening and Theia lines at the bridal salon.

Ivory Bridal Atelier is a new bridal salon that opened its doors this past January in Houston, Texas and is owned and operated by fashion savvy sisters, whom are natives to the Houston area. This bridal salon is an absolute gem, offering a wide array and selection of bridal gown designers.

Sharon and Ronit are no strangers to fashion. Ronit spent 6 years working for Hugo Boss in New York City, and Sharon, a Fashion Merchandising major, has worked for companies such as Louis Vuitton and Laura Mercier. They plan on infusing their fashion expertise into Ivory Bridal Atelier, to ensure a selection of truly unique and beautiful gowns along with superior service. I had the privilege to chat with salon owners Sharon and Ronit and got an insider’s look into this chic and fabulous salon.

IBA: 6 months! Ivory Bridal Atelier opened its doors in January of 2011 by Houstonian sisters, Ronit Levy Mele and Sharon Levy. When Ronit and Sharon Levy decided to follow their dream of opening up a cutting edge Bridal Salon in Houston, Texas, they drew upon the experiences that they shared as sisters shopping for one another’s bridal gowns. They both agreed that there was that “something special” missing in the process, and that they would design an experience that would embody all of the unique touches that they felt every bride should have when making this dream purchase. They also recognized that as Houston continues to grow and become more urban, its brides are becoming more fashion forward and looking for wedding dresses that are classic yet make a statement.

GO: What designers do you carry?
IBA: Ivory Bridal Atelier has dresses from Ines Di Santo, Anne Barge and Rivini. Other lines such as Lela Rose, Badgley Mischka, Lazaro, Liancarlo, Alvina Valenta and Jim Hjelm are exclusive to our salon in the area of Houston.

GO: Do you offer alterations?
IBA: We do not offer in-house alterations, as we have great relationships with two of the best couture alterations seamstresses in Houston. We send all of our brides to them, as we really trust their work and they have been doing wedding gown alterations for many years. We work very closely with them to ensure that our customers are all satisfied with their dress. We also have them attend trunk shows from time to time to answer any questions brides may have before making a big purchase.

GO: Do you sell accessories/veils/shoes?
IBA: We sell all kinds of accessories to complete the bride’s look from head to toe. Belts, shrugs, veils, hairpieces, jewelry, headpieces, and custom garters by designers Sara Gabriel and Homa Bridal. We also have shoes and bridal evening bags by Badgley Mischka.

GO: What is your salon’s mission?
IBA: Ivory Bridal Atelier is to provide brides with the most exquisite selection of couture gowns, and create the magical “movie moment” shopping experience that every bride dreams of. We create lasting relationships with our brides, so that they feel comfortable calling us at anytime with any questions or concerns they may have.

GO: What unique services do you offer brides? What makes your salon stand apart 
from others?
IBA: Our location, customer service and selection set us apart from other boutiques.

Location: We are located in the premier new outdoor shopping area in Houston called West Ave. Home to upscale stores such as the new Tootsies women’s department store, Bang and Olufsen, Q Custom Shirts and trendy restaurants such as Eddie V’s and Pondicheri. Located in the heart of Upper Kirby and River Oaks, there is always something going on here, whether it be a magazine launch party or a big social event at Tootsies, and makes for a fun and vibrant outdoor shopping experience for our brides. Our second floor location creates a private setting for our brides, while our modern and chic décor creates a wonderful ambience for the young and fashionable bride.

Selection: We have all different styles of gowns and buy the most special and unique pieces from every collection and designer that we carry. For a while, there was a void in Houston for a modern bridal boutique with modern and fashion forward gowns. When I was shopping for a gown, just 2 years ago, I felt that I needed to travel to NYC or Dallas to find more fashion forward gowns, but Houston brides no longer need to do that!

GO: In your own words, describe the “bridal salon experience” that brides will
 receive when visiting your salon.
IBA: From the moment a bride walks into Ivory Bridal Atelier, she can expect her experience to be unique to that of any other bridal salon. After browsing through a collection of some of the world’s finest couture bridal gowns, each bride and her guests is ushered to an oversized “Dressing Suite”. At Ivory Bridal Atelier, we appreciate the intimacy of this special time, and strive to create an experience that is as private as each bride wants it to be, filled with special touches to make the journey memorable. Each suite has a dressing area for the bride and a separate chic living room for her guests to wait comfortably and privately for the brides reveal, as they enjoy a glass of champagne and selection of petit fours and mini cupcakes. This intimate by appointment only experience includes a style consultation and each bride is assisted in creating a complete look from head to toe.

AR: Roma Sposa is very involved in the community and supports them through fashion shows and advertising in the local community magazines. Roma Sposa has been involved in fashion shows for the Dante Alighieri Society and the Festa della Repubblica 150th anniversary of the Unity of Italy, the Mother of God Fashion Show at the Shenandoah country club to support the ladies of the Chaldean Community and Grace Ormonde Night of Wedding Style at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham, Michigan for our local brides-to-be. Roma Sposa is consistently supporting The Jewish News, The Chaldean News, the Italian Tribune and many other local community newspapers through advertising.

Roma Sposa also contributes and donates to many local charities and non-profit organizations such as Team Angels, Angles of Hope, Manresa, Sacred Heart Academy Dante Alighieri Society and Fashion For Compassion. Fashion for Compassion, Assunta Lisi Fund, is a foundation started by Roma Sposa’s owner, Anna Castaldi-Roselli that raises funds that will be used to provide massage, beauty and other support services for those undergoing chemo and radiation therapies.

GO: How long have you been in business?
MS: La Reine Bridal has been in business for 27 years.

MS: We carry Pronovias, Paloma Blanca, Augusta Jones, Maggie Sottero, Watters & Watters, Enzoani and many others.

MS: No, but located in our building is an independent seamstress that we highly recommend and work closely with.

MS: We carry a large selection of jewelry, veils, belts and hair accessories by many different designers.

MS: We have an extensive collection of bridesmaid dresses. We also have many formal, mother of the bride/groom and flower girl dresses at our shop.

MS: We run trunk shows throughout the year with our different designers. Located under the “Events-Press” section of our website there is a list of upcoming trunk shows!

MS: We strive to give unparalleled service to our brides and all others who come into our store. It is our goal to outfit any bride no matter the style or the budget.

MS: We offer one on one consultations with our trained bridal specialists in private dressing rooms.

GO: In your own words, describe the “bridal salon experience” that brides will receive when visiting your salon.
MS: When brides visit our salon they will be assigned their own bridal consultant. Together the bride and the consultant will sit down and discuss what the bride is searching for in a dress. The consultant will then select gowns that best fit the bride’s description. Once the bride has found her dream dress her consultant will happily help her find accesories, a veil, bridesmaid dresses etc..

MS: We are open Sunday 12-5, Closed on Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 11-8, Wednesday & Friday 11-7 and Saturday 10-6.

GO: How long have you been in business?
BM: We opened October 1, 2008!

GO: What designers do you carry?
BM: We carry Monique Lhuillier, Carolina Herrera, Elizabeth Fillmore, Oscar de la Renta, Junko Yoshioka, Lela Rose, Liancarlo, Modern Trousseau, Melissa Sweet, Vera Wang, and Romona Keveza Legends.

GO: Do you offer alterations?
BM: YES, we do offer in house alterations. The bride will never have to worry about finding a seamstress on her own or taking her dress to another location. From the moment the bride chooses her gown to the day of the wedding, we will keep her dress safe, steamed and stored!

BM: We do carry accessories and veils. Some of our designers include Brides Head Revisited, DESLA, Mayra’s Veils, Monvieve, Paschal Black Designs, and Erin Cole.

GO: In your own words, describe the “bridal salon experience” that brides will receive when visiting your salon.
BM: Ivory & White believes that customer service is of the utmost importance. Upon entering Ivory & White’s serene showroom, brides are greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable bridal stylist who will work with them from the time they enter the salon to the day they pick up their dress. The devoted stylists at Ivory & White love working with brides and their families to help create the most stress free environment during this exciting but hectic time.

Brides and their family meet one on one with our talented bridal stylists to help select the perfect gown for their wedding day. Brides will discuss silhouettes, personal preferences on beading, lace, types of fabrics and also budget with the consultant. The stylist will then select several dresses from Ivory & White’s vast collection and will help the bride into the dresses as their family and friends sit back and relax in our spacious fitting rooms. Once the perfect dress has been selected, the bride’s measurements will be taken and the appropriate size will be ordered.

When the dress arrives the bride will be notified and alterations will be scheduled. Our in-house alterations experts will ensure a perfect fit for the bride’s wedding day. The dress is then pressed, steamed and stored until the day of the wedding. Brides may enter the store as a stranger but they will leave as a member of the Ivory & White family.

BM: Tuesday thru Saturday 10AM-6PM. Appointments are preferred.
