GO: What is your unique role when it comes to a couple’s wedding day and how does your property distinguish a couple’s experience as opposed to getting married somewhere else?
TB: Taj Boston is a boutique luxury property with an array of diverse venues – From a contemporary rooftop looking out over the Boston skyline to a luxurious ballroom with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the famed Public Garden. Each venue is very unique affording any couple will find the perfect setting for their wedding celebration.
GO: From start to finish, what can a couple expect if they choose to get married at your property?
TB: A couple can expect to make their vision of their dream wedding a reality with high quality and innovative cuisine, contemporary or classic presentation, high staffing levels, and fine dining service standards. Our talented and experienced team will help as much or as little as desired to create the perfect wedding.
GO: If you had to describe your property in three words, what would they be?
TB: Luxurious. Private. Elegant.
GO: What are the unique locations that a couple can host their ceremony and reception at in your venue?
TB: The Grand Ballroom: This is the largest venue in the hotel and holds 250 guests for dinner and dancing, and 500 for a reception style setup. With sparkling chandeliers, elegant drapery, and dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows – this venue is perfect for couples who are looking to make a statement. It is surrounded on three sides by balconies with a spectacular staircase leading down to the ballroom.
The Dining Room: Overlooks Newbury Street and the Public Garden. Its classic décor make it the perfect location for an intimately elegant wedding. It can hold up to 175 guests for dinner and dancing, and 200 for a reception setting.
The Roof: Located on the 17th floor, this venue has a modern look and feel, with breathtaking views of the Public Garden, the Back Bay neighborhood and other cityscape views. It is open from April-November and can hold 130 guests for dinner and dancing, and up to 200 for a reception.
The Taj Room, the Petite Ballroom, and the Adam Room are ideal locations for a smaller, more intimate wedding, engagement party or bridal shower. The French Room, where we hold our classic Afternoon Tea, is a unique spot to host a bridal shower – where guests can toast champagne over a selection of delicately prepared tea sandwiches, pastries, and exquisite loose-leaf tea.
GO: Do you have areas where a couple can elect to take their wedding pictures at your property?
TB: Many couples will have their wedding day pictures taken across the street in the beautiful Public Garden – with an elegant landscape filled with plants, flowers, weeping willows, and also home to the famous Swan Boats, one of the most popular attractions in Boston. We also have three grand staircases within the hotel which provide the perfect setting for the wedding pictures.
GO: Do you have customizable packages? Tell me a little bit about them?
TB: Each wedding package is different and is created to reflect the couple’s taste. In addition to having a wedding at Taj Boston, we provide the bride and groom with a special wedding gift: their honeymoon. Taj Boston will give them a complimentary 6-night honeymoon to their choice of one of our selected Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces located around the world. Whether they want to site-see in London, relax on a secluded island in the Maldives, or be pampered at a luxurious Palace in India – couples will be sure to find their dream honeymoon location. GO: Food is such an important element at a wedding; tell me about your menus/culinary team?
TB: Our diverse culinary team will create the perfect menu for any wedding. Our Executive Chef, Michael Mandato, takes classic New England cuisine and adds a subtle hint of Italian, French, and Mediterranean flair. Our Indian Chef has created a vast array of dishes for couples to choose the perfect menu for a lavish Indian wedding. Our on-site Executive Pastry Chef has a team of six Pastry Designers who can help design the wedding cake made entirely from scratch, as well as an array of pastries to perfectly compliment the wedding cake.
GO: What is the first thing a couple should do if they are interested in getting married at your property?
TB: They should visit and preview the different venue options at Taj Boston and express their vision in as much detail as possible for their perfect wedding day. We can then help them choose their ideal setting and explore menus as we begin the wedding planning process.
