Maybe it’s the fact that it’s officially summer now, but I’m having major shoe fever and will be dedicating all of our Editor’s Daily Picks this week to the season’s hottest footwear. I can totally picture wearing these sexy striped canvas pumps by Carven on a luxurious yacht sailing through the Mediterranean with an extra dirty martini in hand. Cheers and Happy Tuesday! xoxo

Stephenie & Kyle Get Married
Friday, June 17th, 2011
Here is a teaser for Monday’s wedding of the week on www.weddingstylemagazine.com.
I always wish I could have a dog, but I feel guilty getting one with my travel schedule, so I always enjoying visiting with a nice one … and seeing one in a submission or photo shoot is always great, too. While, I typically like smaller dogs like Stephenie’s maltese Bebe (that you’ll see on Monday), Champ does make one hell of a ring bearer in his pooch-size tuxedo. How can you say no to this face?
I can’t wait for you to see Stephenie and Kyle’s wedding at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California. Some of you may recognize her as a contestant on “Survivor” and some of you may recognize him as a Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher. Either way, they wedding designed by the incredible Joannie Liss of Joannie Liss Events and Eden Rodriguez of End Design is just stunning.
Things I love: Napa, Napa, Napa. There is something about this part of California that is so high-end, but still so comfortable. I also love her shoes, the Louis Vuitton laptop case that Stephenie bought Kyle as a wedding present, and who doesn’t love a good Philly cheesesteak? Also, the horse and carriage bit never gets old when done right.
Thank you so much to the wonderful Catherine Hall of Catherine Hall Studios for letting us share this with you. Be sure to look out for the full feature on Monday. Have a great weekend!

The Inside Scoop on Planning a Wedding at The Biltmore House in Asheville, NC
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011The Biltmore House opened in 1895 as the private residence of George Vanderbilt. Today, it’s known as America’s Largest home and plays host to over a million visitors a year. Located in Asheville, North Carolina The Biltmore House was originally created as an escape from the every day life. The property grounds and views of the mountains make it a breathtaking getaway. This location is nothing short of beautiful and pristine.
It was an absolute pleasure speaking with the Catering Sales Manager, Maura Scarmack who gave us a remarkable look into the services, beautiful grounds and vistas of The Biltmore House. Maura Scarmack has worked in industry for years. She has planned weddings at The Biltmore for four years now and prior to that she was planning events for an elite clientele, including the NFL. Maura answered a few questions for us on the special experience wedding couples will receive when booking their event at The Biltmore House.

GO: What is your unique role when it comes to a couple’s wedding day and how does your property distinguish a couple’s experience as opposed to getting married somewhere else? Will the couple have a dedicated person?
MS: We work with our clients from the day they tour the property in consideration of their special occasion through the weekend of their event, helping take down all of their special details.
We have a skilled banquet team to help at the actual event, but we act a liaison between the venue/kitchen and banquet staffs leading up to the event to ensure stability and consistency in the planning process. We also have the ability to help organize other events at all of the different venues, whether it’s a rehearsal dinner or bridal tea, an after-party or brunch the morning after the wedding.
GO: From start to finish, what can a couple expect if they choose to get married at your property?
MS: Without question, I feel like we offer outstanding customer service throughout the planning process and the assurance that there is a team of incredible professionals prepared to carry out a spectacular event. From the culinary expertise of our chef’s to the dedicated service of our banquet team, your guests will enjoy every moment on this pristine property.
GO: If you had to describe The Biltmore in three words, what would they be?
MS: Majestic, Inspiring and Timeless
GO: Do you have areas where a couple can elect to take their wedding pictures at your property?
MS: Our couples are welcome to take images around the property throughout the planning process, from engagement shots to a bridal portrait, and wedding day photography. The only restriction we place is that we ensure another event isn’t taking place in a location the day of the event. There are so many areas to take advantage of, areas with incredible bamboo, lagoons, the grand architecture of Biltmore House, pristine gardens and mountain views. There are so many places!
GO: Do you have customizable packages?
MS: We can certainly customize anything, but we have created packages for our couples to take a lot of the guesswork out of planning. Our packages include a four hour open bar, reception food, wedding cake, night at Inn on Biltmore Estate. If you don’t want to offer alcohol or if you wanted to offer a signature cocktail, we can work with whatever your preferences may be.
GO: Food is such an important element at a wedding; tell me about your menus/culinary team?
MS: We have outstanding chefs! The most exciting thing about our team is that they are always looking for a new challenge, and are certainly open to conceptualizing creative and event-specific menus for our couples.
GO: What is the first thing a couple should do if they are interested in getting married at your property?
MS: Visit our website, www.biltmore.com/weddings to fill out our online inquiry form. We will automatically send our preliminary information to guests. From there, they can call and schedule an appointment with a Catering Manager.
GO: Does your property have any unique features that you would like us to share with our readers?
MS: Biltmore is situated on 8,000 acres and has a winery, outdoor center, horse and carriage barn, award-winning 209-room Inn on Biltmore Estate featuring a petit spa, 250-room French chateau for guests to visit, and so much more.

It Had To Be Fate: Kamilya & Adilkhan Get Married
Tuesday, June 14th, 2011Kamilya Serikova and Adilkhan Iskakov
Married in Prague, Czech Republic on August 14, 2010
Adilkhan saw Kamilya at the Ice Hockey World Championship in Prague in 2004, when Kazakhstan was playing against Latvia. As their eyes met, it truly was a love at first sight. “Kamilya was drawing Kazakh flags on the faces of supporters, when we first met,” remembers Adilkhan. Both immediately felt that it had to be fate that brought them together in the gorgeous city of Prague showing love for the Kazakhstan Ice Hockey team.
Initially driven together by a shared passion, it grew into an everlasting love for one another that they wanted to commemorate in an unforgettable way. After dating for five and a half years they decided to get married in the place where their love first blossomed, and also looked at it as a chance to bring their friends and family to the magical city where their lives were changed forever.
They both knew they wanted to have a wedding as unforgettable as the day they first met. “We always wanted to have a fairytale wedding in Prague,” recalls Kamilya. “We dreamt of driving an antique Rolls Royce through the beautiful cobble stone streets, getting married in a majestic castle and enjoying an incredible night of fine cuisine and dancing at one of Prague’s most sumptuous restaurants with our loved ones. Thanks to Alexandra from Cosmopolite Weddings our dreams came true!”
To capture the moment they turned to Los Angeles-based Couture Cinema. The occasion naturally lent itself to a vivid mural set for a motion picture. A horse-drawn carriage amongst the ancient medieval architecture of Prague and a ceremony in a castle as grandiose as it is historic, adorned with murals on every surface, created a story much too beautiful for fiction. The wedding day made for a visual playground to film.
Cinematography: Couture Cinema, Los Angeles and San Francisco, CA; Location: Troja Palace, Prague, Czech Republic; Event Planner: Cosmpolites’ Wedding, Prague, Czech Republic; Cake and Stationery: Hotel Kempinski Hybernská, Prague, Czech Republic; Ceremony Music: Adam’s Duo; Photography: Yulya Bazzy, Prague, Czech Republic
We wish you countless years of happiness Kamilya and Adilkhan and a big thank you to Yaroslav Kofman of Couture Cinema for letting us share this video with our viewers!

Nikki & John Michael Get Married
Friday, June 10th, 2011
Here is a teaser for Monday’s wedding of the week on www.weddingstylemagazine.com.
Sometimes I think I have seen it all … then I realize I haven’t. After 25 years in the industry I always look to be wowed and Nikki and John Michael’s wedding in the Philippines certainly takes the cake for a while.
From their reception at Fernbrook Gardens, known for its “glass house” feel, to their eight-foot cake, fireworks display, choreographed dance with a move from a classic 80s movie (any guesses?), a culinary extravaganza and so much more. To top it off they had amazing photography by Lito Sy, which makes me wonder if I should open up a Platinum Listing in the Philippines. You would be the first to be invited Lito.
Things I love: invitations set the tone for your entire wedding. Put thought into them as they will thread your theme from start to finish. I love the designs they chose by the fabulous Karen Rosales of Paper Patch Creations and then incorporated throughout the event design. Other things are, of course, her shoes and the location.
A special thank you to Karen Rosales of Paper Patch Creations for submitting this wedding and photographer Lito Sy and his assistant Ritchie Pingol for letting us share it with you. Be sure to look out for the full feature on Monday. Have a great weekend!
